The story Kepar, boy Wise
Told, in an area in Kapupaten
Southeast Aceh,
there lived a widow

Kisah Si Kepar, Bocah Yang Bijaksana

Diceritakan, di sebuah daerah di Kapupaten

Aceh Tenggara,

hiduplah seorang janda

bersama dengan seorang anak laki-lakinya yang

bernama Si Kepar. Ayah dan ibu si Kepar

bercerai sejak si Keparmasih berusia satu tahun,

sehingga ia tidak mengenal sosok ayahnya.

Sebagai anak yatim, Si Kepar sering diejek oleh

teman-teman sepermainannya sebagai jazah

(anak tak berayah, istilah ini belum termasuk

dalam kamus besar bahasa indonesia sehingga

pencarian kata jazah terbatas hanya sebagai

istilah

lokal

saja.

Oleh karena itu, Si Kepar ingin mengetahui siapa

sebenarnya ayahnya.

Pada suatu hari, Si Kepar pun menanyakan hal

itu kepada ibunya. Pada awalnya, ibunya enggan

menceritakan siapa dan di mana ayah Si Kepar.

Namun, akhirnya diceritakan juga setelah Si

Kepar mengancam akan mencari sendiri jika tidak diceritakan. Setelah jelas siapa dan di mana

ayahnya, Si Kepar pun berniat untuk menemui ayahnya di atas sebuah gunung yang sangat

jauh.

Setelah berpamitan pada ibunya, Si Kepar pun berangkat untuk menemui ayahnya dengan

perbekalan secukupnya. Ia berjalan sendiri melawati hutan belantara, menyeberangi sungai

dan mendaki gunung. Akhirnya, sampailah ia pada tempat yang dimaksud ibunya. Dari

kejauhan,tampaklah seorang laki-laki setengah baya yang sedang menyiangi rumput di tengah-

tengah ladangnya. Si Kepar pun segera menghampiri dan menyapanya.

“Selamat siang, Pak!”.

“Siang juga, Nak!” jawab Bapak itu.

“Kamu siapa dan dari mana asalmu?” tanya pula Bapak itu.

“Saya Si Kepar. Berasal dari Tanah Alas,” jawab Si Kepar.

“Tanah Alas?” ucap Bapak itu. Ia tersentak kaget mendengar jawaban Si Kepar.

“Kenapa Bapak kaget mendengar nama itu?” tanya Si Kepar.

“Oh tidak, Nak! Tidak ada apa-apa,” jawab Bapak itu.

“Apa yang membawa kamu ke sini, Par?” tanya balik bapak itu.

Si Kepar pun menceritakan maksud kedatanganya, namun ia tidak menceritakan kalau ibunya

masih hidup. Setelah mendengar cerita si Kepar, tahulah Bapak itu bahwa Si Kepar adalah

anaknya.

Sejak itu, Si Kepar mulai silih berganti tinggal bersama ayah atau ibunya. Dalam seminggu,

terkadang Si Kepar tidur tiga malam di tempat ayahnya, baru kembali ke tempat ibunya. Si

Kepar tidak pernah menceritakan kepada ibunya kalau ia tidur di tempat ayahnya. Bahkan, ia

mengatakan kepada ibunya, bahwa ayahnya telah meninggal dunia. Semua hal ini dilakukan

oleh Si Kepar, karena ia ingin kedua orang tuanya menyatu kembali agar tidak lagi diejek oleh

teman-temannya sebagai jazah.

Segala daya dan upaya dilakukannya agar keinginannya dapat tercapai, walaupun ia harus

berbohong kepada kedua orang tuanya. Setelah berdoa sehari-semalam, Si Kepar mendapat

petunjuk dari Yang Mahakuasa. Petunjuk itu adalah menyatakan kehendaknya kepada ibunya

untuk memiliki ayah tiri. Harapan ini juga disampaikan kepada ayahnya untuk memiliki ibu tiri.

Pada suatu malam, Si Kepar menyampaikan harapannya itu kepada ibunya.

“Bu, sebenarnya Kepar kasihan melihat ibu yang setiap hari bekerja keras untuk memenuhi

kebutuhan kita. Jika ibu ingin menikah lagi, Kepar tidak keberatan memiliki ayah tiri.”

Mendengar perkataan Kepar itu, ibunya termenung sejenak, lalu berkata,

“Benarkah kamu tidak keberatan, Par?”

“Tidak, Bu! Kepar sangat senang jika memiliki ayah lagi, agar teman-teman Kepar tidak akan

lagi mengejek Kepar sebagai jazah,” Kepar menjelaskan alasan sebenarnya ingin memiliki ayah

lagi.

“Tapi..., siapa lagi yang mau menikah dengan ibu yang sudah tua ini,” kata ibu Kepar merendah.

“Ibu tidak perlu khawatir. Serahkan saja masalah itu kepada Kepar,” jawab Kepar dengan

perasaan lega, karena jawaban ibunya menandakan bersedia menikah lagi.

Keesokan harinya, Kepar kemudian pergi ke gunung menemui ayahnya untuk menyampaikan

harapan yang sama.

“Ayah ! Bolehkah Kepar meminta sesuatu kepada, Ayah ? ” tanya Kepar kepada ayahnya.

“Apakah itu, Anakku!” jawab ayah Kepar penasaran.

“Sebenarnya Kepar merasa kasihan melihat ayah yang setiap hari harus bekerja di ladang dan

memasak sendiri. Jika ayah tidak keberatan, Kepar akan mencarikan seorang perempuan yang

pantas untuk mendampingi ayah,” kata Kepar kepada ayahnya.

“Siapa lagi yang mau dengan ayah yang sudah tua ini?” jawab ayah Kepar tersenyum.

“Tenang, Ayah! Masih banyak janda-janda yang sebaya dan pantas untuk ayah di Tanah Alas,”

kata Kepar kepada ayahnya memberi harapan.

“Ah, yang benar saja, Par!” jawab ayah Kepar dengan santainya.

Mendengar jawaban itu, Kepar pun tahu kalau ayahnya bersedia menikah lagi. Akhirnya, kedua

orang tuanya menyetujui harapan Si Kepar. Namun, mereka belum mengetahui siapa jodohnya

yang oleh mereka sama-sama telah menyerahkan masalah itu kepada Si Kepar. Setelah itu,

Kepar pun mulai mengatur taktik dan strategi untuk mempertemukan kedua orang tuanya yang

semula beranggapan bahwa pasangan mereka sudah meninggal sebagaimana keterangan Si

Kepar.

Si Kepar mempertemukan mereka di sebuah dusun yang berada di lereng gunung, tidak jauh

dari tempat tinggal ayahnya. Pertemuan ini tidak dilakukan di Tanah Alas, agar ayahnya tidak

teringat dengan tempat itu, dimana dulu ia pernah tinggal di sana selama puluhan tahun.

Akhirnya, berkat usaha Kepar, kedua orang tuanya bersatu kembali. Mereka berdua hidup

harmonis seperti sedia kala. Melihat keadaan itu, kini saatnya Si Kepar menceritakan keadaan

yangsebenarnya, bahwa perempuan yang dinikahi ayahnya itu adalah istrinya sendiri yang dulu

pernah ia nikahi. Demikian sebaliknya, laki-laki yang menikahi ibunya itu adalah suaminya

sendiri yang dulu pernah menikahinya. Setelah mendengar keterangan dari Si Kepar tersebut,

tahulah keduanya (ayah dan ibu Kepar) keadaan yang sebenarnya. Meskipun keduanya telah

dibohongi oleh anaknya, keduanya tidak marah. Keduanya saling memaafkan atas kesalahan

masing-masing yang menyebabkan mereka bercerai. Mereka juga berterima kasih kepada Si

Kepar, karena telah menyatukan mereka kembali. Si Kepar pun sangat senang menyambut

kehadiran ayahnya di tengah-tengah keluarganya. Akhirnya, mereka bertiga hidup dalam

sebuah keluarga yang rukun, damai dan penuh kebahagiaan. Sejak itu pula, Si Kepar tidak

pernah lagi diejek oleh teman-temannya sebagai jazah.
